Wax is More: Create Your Own Ring
This workshop introduces participants to the traditional lost-wax casting technique, offering an insight into one of the oldest methods of jewellery creation. Guided by jewellery designer Sofia Esquivel, guests will explore the relationship between material, form, and personal expression while creating a ring that reflects their own aesthetic sensibility.

Workshop Description
The session begins with an introduction to the history and principles of lost-wax casting, alongside an overview of Sofia Esquivel’s approach to jewellery design. Participants will then be guided through the process of designing and sculpting their own ring in wax, learning techniques that allow ideas to take physical form. Once completed, each wax model will be professionally cast in silver and carefully finished, resulting in a bespoke piece of jewellery to be worn and treasured. The workshop encourages experimentation, creativity, and a deeper appreciation for craftsmanship and the handmade process.

About the Artist
Sofia Esquivel is a jewellery designer whose practice celebrates the dialogue between craftsmanship and contemporary expression. Working primarily through traditional techniques such as lost-wax casting, she creates pieces that explore materiality, individuality, and the emotional connection we form with objects. Through her workshops, Sofia invites participants into the world of jewellery making, sharing the knowledge and creative processes behind transforming an idea into a lasting wearable piece.
