INSIDE LISBON’S ART SCENE
Discover Lisbon’s contemporary art scene from the inside through a carefully curated walk across 4–5 galleries and independent art spaces in the Estrela area.
Rather than simply moving from one exhibition to another, this experience offers an insider’s perspective on what is happening in Lisbon’s art world right now — introducing participants to current exhibitions, contemporary artists, curatorial ideas, and some of the people shaping the city’s evolving cultural landscape.
The route is curated specifically according to the exhibitions on view at the time, making each walk a unique snapshot of Lisbon’s contemporary art scene.
THE EXPERIENCE
Over the course of two hours, we will visit 4–5 carefully selected contemporary art galleries in and around Estrela.
At each stop, we will explore the current exhibition, introduce the artists and their practices, and discuss the ideas behind the works on view.
Whenever possible, we will also meet gallerists, curators, or members of the gallery teams, creating an opportunity for informal conversation and a more personal understanding of how galleries work, how exhibitions are developed, and what is currently shaping Lisbon’s contemporary art scene.
Along the way, we will talk about the wider cultural landscape of the city — from established names to emerging artists, galleries worth following, current tendencies, and exhibitions not to miss.
The experience is designed to be informal, conversational, and accessible. No previous knowledge of contemporary art is required — only curiosity.
